TVS has announced a 13 per cent growth in two-wheeler sales in India. The company sold 2.47 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic market in July 2018 as compared to 2.19 lakh two-wheelers in July 2017.
With this, TVS has retained the third spot in the Indian two-wheelers industry. The growth in the export numbers was a lot more significant. The company shipped off 60,474 two-wheelers in the last month as opposed to the 43,940 units it had managed in July 2017. This marks a 38 per cent growth. Overall, the company sold 3.07 lakh two-wheelers in the last month, which is represents a 17 per cent growth.
TVS’ motorcycle range continues to constitute a major chunk of its sales. With the Apache leading the charge, motorcycles sales grew from 1.09 lakh units in July 2017 to 1.21 units in July 2018 by 11 per cent. The scooter sales on the other hand, grew by 29 per cent, from 92,378 units to 1.18 lakh units.
