TVS has announced a 21 per cent growth in domestic two-wheeler sales in September 2017, compared to the corresponding period in the last year. The company sold 3.07 lakh two-wheelers in the last month, cementing its position as the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country.
In the domestic market, motorcycle sales continue to make up a major chunk of TVS’ sales. The company sold 1.43 lakh motorcycles in the last month, which is 17 per cent more than what it had managed in September 2016. Scooter sales on the other hand, grew by 43 per cent, up from 84,850 units in September 2016 to 1.21 lakh units in September 2017. Two-wheeler exports also recorded a hefty 30 per cent growth, jumping from 33,475 units to 43,694 units.
The TVS XL100 moped continues to be the best-seller in the company’s line-up, while the Jupiter is the highest selling scooter. The Apache on the other hand, is the highest selling motorcycle in the line-up. TVS recently launched special edition models of several models to capitalise on the increase in sales during the festive season.
