- Claimed to deliver 15% better fuel economy than the BS4 model
- To be sold in two variants (base and Commuter Bike of the Year)
- Launch details and prices yet to be revealed
TVS Motor Company has listed the Radeon BS6 on its official website and revealed the complete technical specifications of the motorcycle. While the company is yet to reveal the prices, dealer sources have revealed that 110cc commuter motorcycle will be available from Rs 60,492 (ex-showroom Pune) onwards.
The latest iteration of the commuter motorcycle from TVS uses a 109.7cc, single-cylinder Duralife engine with a fuel injection system. Paired to a four-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to produce 8.08bhp of peak power at 7,350rpm and 8.7Nm of maximum torque at 4,500rpm. In comparison, the BS4-compliant model used a carburettor-equipped 109.7cc engine that delivered 8.2bhp at 7,000rpm and 8.7Nm at 5,000rpm. TVS claims a 15% improvement in the fuel economy over the BS4 model.
The changes will be limited to the BS6 upgrade while the rest of the styling cues and features will remain unchanged. Thus, the latest iteration of the TVS Radeon will continue to feature its typical commuter motorcycle looks along with features such as chrome surround for the headlight, chrome treatment to various parts and a brown saddle with ribbed-style cover.
Similar to its predecessor, the TVS Radeon BS6 will be sold in two variants – base and Commuter Bike of the Year. The base version will be available in six colour options – Pearl White, Royal Purple, Golden Beige, Metal Black, Volcano Red and Titanium Grey. The Commuter Bike of the Year variant will be sold in two paint options – Chrome Brown and Chrome Black.
Hardware specifications include telescopic forks at the front and five-step adjustable twin-sided springs at the back to perform the shock absorption tasks. Anchoring setup on the base model includes drum brakes on both wheels while the Commuter Bike of the Year edition benefits from an optional disc brake at the front.
