TVS has launched the more eco-friendly version of its 110cc commuter, the Radeon BS6. It is priced from Rs 58,992 to Rs 64,992, depending on the variant. While we have already told you the five highlights of the bike, here’s a list of other two-wheelers you can consider around the similar pricing as the Radeon.
Hero Super Splendor: Rs 67,300 to Rs 70,800
Slightly expensive than the Radeon is the Hero Super Splendor which packs a larger 125cc engine that makes 10.6bhp and 10.6Nm. Also, with a five-speed gearbox, it gets one cog extra. For better ride quality and handling, Hero has recently replaced its previous single downtube frame with a diamond chassis while the suspension travel has also been increased marginally.
Honda CB Shine: Rs 67,857 to Rs 72,557
Another 125cc commuter in this segment is the Honda CB Shine. The motorcycle is powered by a refined 124cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine which produces 10.5bhp and 11Nm while the transmission setup comprises of a five-speed gearbox. Weighing at 114kg (kerb), the CB Shine is also a light weight motorcycle which makes it easily maneuverable in city riding conditions.
Honda Activa 6G: Rs 64,464 to Rs 65,964
For those who want the convenience of a scooter, there are three different varieties in this segment. Firstly, the Honda Activa 6G is an ideal family scooter for everyday use. It is known for its reliability and a smooth 109.51cc, fuel-injected motor. Moreover, with the BS6 update, Honda has made it better in terms of hardware by plonking a 12-inch front wheel and telescopic forks, as opposed to the previous 10-inch wheel and link-type suspension.
Hero Destini 125: Rs 64,310 to Rs 66,800
The Hero Destini is another great family scooter with a larger 125cc engine that makes 9bhp and 10.4Nm. What makes it a desirable daily workhorse are the spacious footboard and seat while the plush ride quality handles bad roads with aplomb. Also, the feature list includes modern bits such as LED guide lamps and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Yamaha Ray ZR 125: Rs 66,730 to Rs 69,730
In the 125cc scooter segment, if you’re looking for a stylish and distinctive-looking ride, the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 fits the bill. The new Ray ZR gets a few radical aesthetic elements such as the T-shaped LED DRL nestled inside a small visor and the faux air intakes flanking the front apron on both sides. Also, it comes equipped with a fully-digital instrument which makes it all the more modern.
