- TVS Radeon celebratory special edition gets front disc brake option
- Gets two new colour options of Chrome Black and Chrome Brown
- Features new decals and a few other cosmetic changes
TVS Motor Company has launched a new celebratory special edition version of its commuter motorcycle, the Radeon. The motorcycle comes in two variants including the drum brake model priced at Rs 52,720 and the new front disc brake version which costs Rs 54,820. These models carry a premium of Rs 1,900 and Rs 4,000, respectively, over the standard Radeon. Touted as the ‘Commuter of the Year’ edition, this variant celebrates TVS’ achievement of over-two lakh customers for the motorcycle in India.
In order to differentiate the special edition model from the standard trim, TVS has given a bunch of updates to the motorcycle. While most of these additions are cosmetic, the only mechanical difference is the introduction of a front disc brake, as opposed to the drum brake on the standard bike.
TVS has also introduced two new colour options for this edition including Chrome Black and Chrome Brown. Other changes include a new petrol tank cushion with an ‘R’ emblem, a robust thigh pad design, new metallic levers, chrome-finished rear view mirrors, chrome carburetor cover and a fresh set of decals.
Besides the aforementioned changes, the TVS Radeon special edition remains the same in all other aspects. Powering the motorcycle is a 109.7cc, air-cooled, carbureted motor which produces 8.2bhp of power and 8.7Nm of torque. It comes mated to a four-speed gearbox. The Radeon rides on 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels which are suspended by telescopic forks up front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It comes equipped with a 10-litre fuel tank and the kerb weight of the bike stands at 112kg.
In terms of competition, the TVS Radeon goes up against the Hero Splendor Plus, Honda CD 110 Dream, TVS Star City Plus and the Bajaj the Platina 110.
