- Will get two or more new paint schemes
- Unlikely to receive mechanical changes
- To debut on 11 August
TVS has teased a new variant of its commuter offering, the Raider 125. It is likely to be dubbed the Marvel Edition, similar to the Ntorq 125 range. The bike has been teased on TVS’ social media handles and here’s what you can expect.
The upcoming TVS Raider 125 Marvel Edition is likely to bring in new paint schemes based on the collaboration. Going by the teaser image, there seems to be one red colour and another black or blue colour option. We expect only cosmetic updates for the new Raider variant and no mechanical tweaks. The standard Raider 125 is powered by a single-cylinder 124.8cc engine that makes 11.2bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. This motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox. TVS even claims that it can clock 99kmph of top speed.
The Raider 125 is a swanky-looking commuter with its LED headlight, slim but muscular bodywork and overall lightweight build. Even the hardware on it is quite simple. The bike rides on telescopic front forks along a monoshock and its braking hardware consists of a single front and rear disc with ABS.
Currently, there are three models in the Raider lineup: single seat, disc and SmartXonnect. The top-spec variant comprises a fully digital console that comes with smartphone connectivity and offers ride modes, an ambient sensor, a navigation system, call and SMS alerts, and voice commands. TVS also has a Racing Special Edition for the Raider but that’s only sold overseas. It comes with handlebar guards, engine crash guards, brake calliper protector, a phone holder and a new paint scheme too.
TVS has priced the Raider 125 SmartXonnect at Rs. 1,00,970 (ex-showroom, Delhi). We expect the Marvel Edition to be priced slightly higher than that.
