TVS recently unveiled the Raider SmartXonnect in India. It’s the most feature-packed and expensive variant of the 125cc TVS motorcycle. Priced at Rs 99,990 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Raider SmartXonnect has a handful of alternatives. Let’s look at the five options you can buy instead of the Raider for a similar asking price.
TVS iQube
The TVS iQube base variant is priced at Rs 93,056 (ex-showroom Delhi). It’s powered by a 3.04kWh lithium-ion battery mated to a 4.4kW (peak power) motor. The iQube’s range is limited to 100km in the Eco mode and the top speed is rated at 78kmph. On the feature front, it gets LED illumination, a TFT screen, smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call alerts, geo-fencing, antitheft USB alert, and USB charging alerts. The iQube rides on telescopic front forks, and twin rear shocks. For the braking hardware, it gets a front disc and rear drum brake setup.
Ola S1
Another alternative for the Raider is the Ola S1. It retails at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom Delhi) and sits between the S1 Air and S1 Pro. Powered by an 8.5kW motor, the Ola S1 gets a 2.97kWh lithium-ion battery. Its top speed is limited 95kmph and the maximum range that Ola claims for the S1 is 128km. It features a TFT screen, three ride modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport), navigation, smartphone connectivity, remote boot access, music playback, and more. Similar to the S1 Pro, the S1 also gets a single front and rear suspension setup.
Bajaj Pulsar NS125
The Pulsar NS125 has also made it to the list with an asking price of Rs 1,04,371 (ex-showroom Delhi). It also happens to be in the segment and packs a 124.45cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. Its output is rated at 11.82bhp and 11Nm and the engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Bajaj has suspended the Pulsar NS125 on telescopic front forks and a monoshock while the braking hardware comprises a 240mm front disc and 130mm rear drum with CBS. The NS125 is Bajaj’s youthful 125cc offering.
Bajaj Pulsar 150
Another Pulsar option you can opt for instead of the Raider SmartXonnect is the Pulsar 150. It costs Rs 1,04,448 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Neon edition. Powering the Pulsar 150 is a 149.5cc single-cylinder mill dishing out 14bhp and 13.25Nm. It features a butch design, rides on telescopic front forks, and has twin gas-charged rear shocks. Its braking hardware includes a 260mm front disc and 130mm rear drum.
Honda Unicorn
Last but not least, the Honda Unicorn too is an option as it’s priced at Rs 1,05,037 (ex-showroom Delhi). Powering the Honda bike is a 162.7cc single-cylinder engine developing 12.7bhp and 14Nm. The motor is mated to a five-speed gearbox and nestled in a diamond-type frame. The Unicorn rides on telescopic front forks and a monoshock setup. It gets a front disc and rear drum brake setup.
