TVS Motor Company has clocked a healthy eight per cent growth in February, as compared to the same period in the last year. The company sold 1.95 lakh two-wheelers in the last month, thereby retaining the fourth spot in the Indian two-wheeler industry.
Continuing its steady growth in the domestic market, TVS recorded an 11 per cent surge in sales in the Indian two-wheeler market. Motorcycles sales jumped by four per cent while the scooters performed even better, registering an 18 per cent jump in sales. Export numbers however, went down by 10 per cent while three-wheeler sales also experienced an 8 per cent decline.
The Hosur-based manufacturer’s demand for commuter motorcycles and scooters has been gradually picking up pace since the past few months. The recent launches including the Star City Plus and the Scooty Zest have been turned out to be successful, helping it boost its overall market share. The company recently strengthened its commuter range by reintroducing the Victor. The premium segment in the other hand is expected to get an impetus with the launch of the its own version of the BMW G310R.
