TVS has recorded a nine per cent growth in two-wheeler sales in July 2017, as compared to the corresponding period in 2016. With over 2.19 lakhs two-wheelers sold, the company has reinforced its position as the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India.
Of the total number, TVS sold 2.19 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic market in July 2017, which is six per cent more than July 2016. Motorcycle sales grew by 15 per cent while the scooter sales witnessed a whopping 35 per cent increase. Even the export numbers experienced an impressive 31 per cent increase over last year.
Among scooters, the Jupiter continues to reign as the top seller while the Apache range is the biggest volume generator among motorcycles. Although the numbers did experience a setback during demonetisation, the introduction of new paint schemes during the transition to BS IV-compliant models seems to have boosted the company’s sales.
