TVS Motor Company has registered a sales growth of 2 per cent for January 2019. The manufacturer sold a total of 2.69 lakh two-wheelers last month as compared to the 2.62 lakh units sold in the same month last year.
It posted a 13 per cent growth in motorcycle sales for January 2018, selling 1.11 lakh motorcycles; 12,604 units more than it sold in January 2018. Scooter sales for the company stood at 85,299 units for last month. And in total, TVS registered a 1 per cent growth in India. As for the export market, the manufacturer shipped off 40,623 motorcycles and scooters last month as compared to the 36,003 units exported in January 2018.
The Hosur-based manufacturer attributes most of its sales to its highest selling models, the XL 100 and Jupiter. Meanwhile, the Apache series makes up for majority of motorcycle sales. Speaking of which, the Apache RTR 160 4V is the only bike in the range sans the safety feature. We can expect it to come equipped with a single-channel ABS system in the next few weeks.
