TVS Motor Company has announced a drop of 9 per cent in its total two-wheeler sales for December 2021.
The manufacturer sold a total of 2.35 lakh units in the last month of 2021 as against 2.58 lakh two-wheelers it sold in December 2020. Out of this number, 1.46 lakh units were sold in India; a decline of 17 per cent compared to the same period in 2020 wherein TVS sold 1.76 lakh units.
However, motorcycle sales increased by 12 per cent from 1.19 lakh in December 2020 to 1.33 lakh in December 2021. On the other hand, scooter sales fell from 77,705 units in December 2020 to 67,553 units last year. Nevertheless, the export markets bore good news with an increase of 9 per cent for December 2021.
Recently, TVS launched a special edition called the RTR 165 RP in India. Limited to just 200 units, which have now been sold out, the motorcycle received a bigger engine, different livery, and some interesting features to complete the package.
