- TVS sold 1.57 lakh units in India in December
- Exports grows by 20 per cent
- To launch new TVS RR 310 soon
TVS Motor Company has announced a 16.6 percent drop in total sales (domestic and exports) in December 2019. It sold 2.15 lakh motorcycles and scooters last month as compared to 2.58 lakh units in December 2018.
In the country, TVS sold 1.57 lakh units in December 2019; a 25 per cent decrease from December 2018’s sale of 2.09 lakh motorcycles and scooters.
Motorcycles contributed to 93,697 units last month. This is a 12.5 per cent drop as against the 1.07 lakh sales the company registered in the same month in 2018. Subsequently, scooters witnessed a 18.3 per cent decline in sales; decreasing from 91,480 in December 2018 to 74,716 last month.
Nevertheless, TVS saw a substantial, 20 per cent increase in the export market. It sold 58,375 motorcycles and scooters overseas last month as compared to 48,803 in December 2018. TVS recently launched the BS6-compliant Apache RTR 200 4V and Apache RTR 160 4V in India. It will soon introduce the new Apache RR 310 which sports a host of mechanical and electronic updates.
