- Will be TVS’ first scrambler motorcycle
- Likely to be powered by a 223cc motor
- Could be priced around Rs 1.35 lakh
The TVS Ronin is all set to make its debut in India tomorrow, 6 July. It will be the Hosur-based manufacturer’s first scrambler-style motorcycle.
While rumours suggest that there could also be a cruiser alongside the Ronin, all of the teaser images suggest that the Ronin will be launched. Moreover, even its production images have been leaked recently. So we know that the Ronin’s styling will be closely similar to the Zepplin concept although in a scrambler shape. Hence it will come with a heavy-looking sump guard and dual-purpose tyres. However, these are wrapped around alloy wheels. That said, the Ronin also gets inverted forks fitted in golden-finished fork bottles and features a single-piece seat.
Underneath its bodywork, the TVS Ronin is likely to use a 223cc, single-cylinder engine that is a bored-out version of the Apache’s 200cc mill. While power and torque figures have been kept under wraps, we can expect the Ronin to come with slightly higher torque figures compared to its naked sibling that will suit its character. Braking would be done with single discs at both ends with dual-channel ABS. In terms of features, the Ronin is likely to get all the possible bells and whistles that its siblings get. So it is likely to feature a colour TFT screen that is Bluetooth enabled and riding modes too.
We won’t have to wait for long though as its launch is just a day away. So stay tuned to BikeWale for all the updates!
