TVS Motors has reported 1.5 per cent decrease in their two-wheeler sales in August. The company sold 1,48,469 units in August as compared to 1,50,740 units in the same month last year.
In the domestic market, the Chennai based manufacturer sales decreased by 6.21 per cent at 1,27,095 units in last month as against 1,35,513 in the corresponding month last year. On the other hand, the export sales grew by 40 per cent where they managed to sell 21,374 units as against 15,227 units in the same month last year. The depreciating rupee has also resulted in the company in a big way by getting more revenue from overseas.
The overall scooter sales were down by 4.49 per cent to 36,478 units as against 38,193 units in the same month last year. However, the motorcycle sales managed to get double digit growth of 14.23 per cent. The company sold total of 61,313 units in August as compared to 53,673 units in the corresponding month last year.
