TVS Motor Company announced a 20 per cent increase in overall sales for December 2014. The company sold 1,91,880 units as compared to 159,495 units sold in the same month in 2013. This includes two-wheelers as well as three-wheelers.
The overall two-wheeler (scooters and motorcycles) sales report shows a 19 per cent hike in sales. The company overall sold 1,81,994 units in December last year in comparison to the 1,53,358 units sold in the same month in 2013. However, the exports grew by 28 per cent with 32,969 units sold last month as against 25,797 units in the corresponding month in 2013.
Scooter sales grew by 25 per cent during the same period, while motorcycle sales also showed a growth of 22 per cent. Sales of scooters increased to 52,411 units in December 2014 from 41,817 units sold in the corresponding period in 2013. The motorcycles sales showed a growth as 70,188 units were delivered to customers in the same month last year. The company had sold 57,576 motorcycles in December 2013.
TVS Motor Company has extensive plans for 2015 and plans to introduce the new range of Apache motorcycles this year. The manufacturer will add a new motorcycle to the 250cc segment. With this they will make their entry into a segment that previously did not figure in their line-up.
