TVS Motor Company has announced a six per cent growth in domestic two-wheeler sales in November 2017 over the similar month in the last year. With this, the company has retained its position as the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the domestic market.
TVS sold 2.03 lakh two-wheelers in the last month in the domestic market, as compared to the 1.91 lakh units in November 2016. Motorcycle sales continue to make up a major chunk of TVS’ sales. The company sold 93,202 motorcycles in the last month, which is a whopping 37 per cent higher than November 2016. Scooter sales on the other hand, grew by seven per cent, up from 73,135 units to 78,397 units. Two-wheeler exports also recorded a hefty 45 per cent growth, jumping from 27,589 units to 40,185 units.
The strategy of launching special edition models and new paint schemes for its range for the festive season seems to have worked well for TVS. The Apache continues to be the highest selling motorcycle in TVS’ line-up, while the scooter sales are dominated by the Jupiter.
