- Total sales of 2.85 lakh units in February 2019
- Exports grew by 7 per cent
- Records less than 1 per cent growth in the Indian market
TVS Motor Company has recorded a total growth of 2 per cent for February 2019. The manufacturer sold 2, 85,611 motorcycles and scooters last month as compared to 2, 80,942 units sold in the same period last year.
Motorcycles made up for 8 per cent of the increase with a sales of 1.22 lakh units last month. It had sold 1.13 lakh units in February 2018. Meanwhile, scooter sales grew by 7.6 per cent with 93,573 units sold in February 2019 as against 86,935 units February last year.
In the domestic market, TVS sold 2, 31,582 in February last month as against 2, 30,353 units sold in February 2019. As for the export market, the manufacturer shipped off 54,029 motorcycles and scooters registering a 7 per cent increase.
TVS recently updated the Apache RTR 160 with an ABS unit at Rs 84,710. It will soon introduce the Ntorq 125 with a combined-braking system to abide with the ABS/CBS mandate that will be implemented from 1 April 2019.
