TVS Motor Company announced a 7 per cent hike in overall sales for March 2015. The company sold 2,11,122 units as compared to 1,96,826 units sold in the same month in 2014. This includes two-wheelers as well as three-wheelers.
The overall two-wheeler sales report shows a 6 per cent hike in sales. The company overall sold 1,88,822 units in March last year in comparison to the 2,00,238 units sold in the same month in 2015. The exports also grew by 42 per cent with 42,637 units sold last month as against 29,944 units in the corresponding month in 2014.
Scooter sales grew by 14 per cent during the same period while motorcycle sales also showed a growth of 13 per cent. Sales of scooters increased to 54,666 units in March 2015 from 47,766 units sold in the corresponding period in 2014. The motorcycles sales also showed a growth, as 76,936 units were delivered to customers in the same month this year. The company had sold 68,158 motorcycles in March 2014.
TVS Motor Company has an extensive launch strategy for this year and plans to introduce a new range of Apache motorcycles this year. With the addition of a new motorcycle to the 250cc segment, they will make their presence felt in this segment that was untouched by the company yet.
