TVS Motor company has announced a two per cent hike in total sales for December 2013. The manufacturer sold 1,59,495 products in contrast to the 1,56,221 units sold in the corresponding month in 2012.
Though these figures include the sales numbers for three-wheelers as well, the two-wheeler sales increased to 1,53,358 units in December 2013 as against 1,51,735 units in December 2012.
Two-wheelers sold in the country sum up to 1,32,664 units in December 2013 as compared to 1,34,566 units sold in December 2012. Out of these, 57,576 motorcycles and 41,817 scooters were sold in December 2013. In the same month in 2012, 60,210 motorcycles and 30,398 scooters were sold by the manufacturer.
TVS shows a growth of 27 per cent in terms of exports, with sales numbers rising to 25,797 units in December 2013 from 20,251 units in the same month in 2012. These sales include 20,694 two-wheeler exports in December 2013 growing from 17,169 units in December 2012, registering a growth of 21 per cent.
