TVS Motor Company has announced that its scooter brand, the Scooty has crossed the sales milestone of five million units since its launch. This product from the Hosur-based manufacturer has been targeted towards female riders and it has been on sale in India for over three decades now.
The latest iteration of the vehicle, the Scooty Pep Plus, is available in a single variant and five colour choices. The ex-showroom (Delhi) prices start from Rs 57,959 onwards. Standard features on the vehicle include an apron-mounted LED DRL, a halogen headlight, front glove box, USB mobile charger provision, and an ‘Eazy’ stand technology (claimed to reduce the effort to put the vehicle on the centre stand). The matte series of the scooter benefits from a 3D logo and a special pattern seat too.
The mechanical specifications include an 87.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, ETFi Ecothrust engine that makes 5.36bhp at 3,500rpm and 6.5Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
