- TVS Scooty Pep Plus limited edition launched in Tamil Nadu
- Commemorates the festival of Pongal
- Priced at Rs 56,085 (ex-showroom, Chennai)
TVS Motor Company has launched a new limited edition model of its smallest scooter, the Scooty Pep Plus, exclusively for the customers of Tamil Nadu. This new version is called ‘Mudhal Kadhal’ which means ”First Love” and it marks Tamil Nadu’s upcoming regional festival Pongal. TVS has priced it at Rs 56,085 (ex-showroom, Chennai) which is around Rs 500 more than the Matte edition.
What’s different in the new TVS Scooty Pep Plus limited edition is the presence of logos in Tamil, stylish graphics and a new paint scheme. It remains the same as the standard model in all other aspects. Since the Scooty Pep Plus is mainly aimed at women riders, it boasts sleek and compact body work and weighs at a measly 93kg (kerb). It also gets useful features like a mobile charger socket, a side stand alarm, under-seat storage hooks, DRLs, and an open glove box.
Powering the Scooty Pep Plus is an 87.8cc, air-cooled engine which is mated to a CVT gearbox. It produces 5.3bhp at 6,500rpm and 6.5Nm at 3,500rpm. Riding on 10-inch wheels at both ends, it is suspended by telescopic forks up front and mono coil spring at the rear. Stopping power comes from drum brakes at both ends.
The TVS Scooty Pep Plus doesn’t have any direct rivals in terms of displacement. But considering its women-centric character, it goes up against the HeroPleasure Plus.
