TVS Motor Company has secured a patent in relation to an air-fuel injection system. This system reduces fuel supply to the engine during deceleration, improving the overall fuel economy.
In the traditional secondary air- injection system, additional air is supplied at the exhaust port to dilute the exhaust gas which in turn reduces the emission level. However, this method doesn't help in reducing the fuel consumption. As per the new patent filed by TVS, their air-injection system reduces the exhaust emission with the benefit of improved fuel economy by reducing the fuel consumption during deceleration.
TVS had applied for this patent in 2014 but got it just a couple of weeks ago. With this new technology in hand, we can expect TVS to equip its new bikes that’ll help it compete with the likes of the Hero Splendor iSmart. The fuel efficiency figure is very important for an Indian buyer. The bigger the figure, the more customers the showrooms get and it looks like TVS will start claiming some brilliant figures for its upcoming two-wheelers.
