Team TVS Sherco had mixed day as the two lead riders continued to hold their fort through the Stage Six of the 2016 Dakar Rally. Riders Pedrero Garcia and Alain Duclos came in 12th and 15th respectively, while Florent Vayssade finished a disappointing 52nd.
His steady pace saw Garcia jump from 14th to 11th in the overall standings, while Duclos continues to hold on to the 10th position. Vayssade though, had a disappointing day as his overall rankings dropped from 33rd to 38th. The sixth stage was the longest special stage of the event so far, a 542 kilometre loop which started and ended in Uyuni, Bolivia. With the altitude varying between 3,500 metres and 4,200 metres, the terrain kept alternating between sand and rock.
The rally continues to be led by Paulo Goncalves (Honda), though KTM rider Toby Price, having won the sixth stage, is continuing to inch closer to the race leader. In cars, Sebastien Loeb dropped to second position overall, behind his Peugeot teammate Peter Hansel.
