- Stage One flagged off in Peru
- 2019 marks fifth year for TVS-Sherco at the Dakar Rally.
- Total of 5000kms across ten stages.
The TVS-Sherco Rally team has kicked-off the 2019 edition of the iconic Dakar Rally in Lima, Peru today. Stage One of the rally comprises of 247 kilometres with 84 kilometres of a special stage (SS) to Pisco. The sum total of these special stages or time trials determine the race results.
This year marks the fifth year of participation for the team which consists of four riders; Michael Metge, Adrien Metge, Lorenzo Santolino and Aravind KP. The riders have trained in various places like Morocco, Spain and France and will be astride the Dakar-spec RTR 450.
The route for the Dakar 2019 will include 10 stages that cover a total of 5000 kilometres. Out of this, 3000 kilometres are dedicated to the time trial or special stages. The route comprises of considerable amount of sand dunes that will test the endurance, techniques and navigational skills of the riders.
