- TVS Sherco Dakar 2022 rally bike unveiled
- Based on Enduro 450 SEF Factory
- Complete unveil on 28 December
TVS Motor Company has partnered with French motorcycle manufacturer, Sherco to compete in the Dakar Rally for quite a few years now. At the 2021 iteration of the rally, the team finished sixth. So to take things up a notch, TVS Sherco have unveiled their completely new Dakar 2022 machine called the Sherco 450 SEF Rally.
The motorcycle is based on the Enduro 450 SEF Factory with three of them tailored to be used in the Rally. Piloting these bikes would be Lorenzo Santolino, Rui Goncalves, and Harith Noah. Now, the team has chosen to remain tight-lipped until its 28 December- and that is when more details of the bike will come out.
Although, for now, we can expect it to use the same semi-perimeter molybdenum steel frame like the Enduro 450. Even the 450cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine will be retained however with a different state of tune. As for the exterior, it continues to sport the blue and high-viz yellow and a ton of decals from sponsors like Motul and Akrapovic. Then there is the fairing up-top for the rally-bike look.
The TVS Sherco Rally bike also comes with different components. While the standard Enduro SEF gets KYB suspension, the Rally machine sports BOS MAC racing units. It also gets an Akrapovic racing exhaust system. As we mentioned earlier, details of the motorcycle are scarce but it’s only a week before all is revealed. Stay tuned!
