TVS Motor Company has updated its product portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Sport commuter. The updated model is available in two variants – kick-start and self-start. The kick-start version of the commuter motorcycle has been priced at Rs 51,750 while the self-start variant is available at Rs 58,925 (both ex-showroom Delhi prices). In comparison, the BS4 compliant model was sold at Rs 48,117 (kick-start) and Rs 50,908 (self-start).
In terms of mechanical specifications, the latest iteration of the TVS Sport comes with a slightly bigger engine. The BS6-compliant Sport features a 109.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor with a fuel injection system that delivers 8.17bhp of power and 8.7Nm of torque. In comparison, its predecessor was powered by a 99.7cc engine that developed 7.27bhp and 7.5Nm. The new TVS Sport is claimed to deliver a 15% better fuel economy than the BS4 motorcycle.
The changes are limited to mechanical upgrades, and the TVS Sport BS6 retains the styling of its predecessor. The colour palette includes five options – volcano red, mercury grey, black with red, white with red and white with purple.
The budget-friendly hardware specifications include telescopic front forks and five-step adjustable rear springs to perform the shock absorption tasks. Anchoring power comes from 130mm front and 110mm rear drum brakes while the safety net includes CBS tech.
