TVS launched the new Sport in India recently giving the commuter motorcycle an BS6-compliant engine as well as other updates. Here we list down five highlights of the TVS Sport BS6 that also set it apart from the BS4 model.
Pricing
TVS is offering the Sport BS6 is two variants- kickstart and electric start. The kickstart variant costs Rs 51,750; a hike of Rs 3,600 over the BS4 model. On the other hand, the electric start version is priced at Rs 58,925. This is a premium of around Rs 8,000 over the same BS4 version.
Colours
Earlier available in seven colours, the TVS Sport is now available in a choice of five colour options- Volcano Red, Mercury Grey, Black with Red, White with Red and White with Purple.
New features
While the TVS Sport continues with features like a combined braking system, pass switch, and preload-adjustable suspension at the rear, the BS6 version also sports LED DRLs in the headlamp.
Bigger engine
TVS has equipped the commuter motorcycle with a 109cc motor in place of the 99cc engine on the previous model. This engine is fuel-injected and produces 8.1bhp and 8.7Nm. Moreover, the manufacturer claims a 15 per cent increase in efficiency.
Revised cycle parts
The Sport now rides on tubeless tyres wrapped on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. It retains the telescopic forks up front and dual-shocks at the rear for suspension. Meanwhile, braking is done by drum brakes as standard along with SBT. (Sync Braking System).
