TVS Motor Company updated its product portfolio with the launch of the BS6 compliant Sport commuter motorcycle. The latest iteration of the TVS Sport gets a bigger engine and improved fuel economy than its predecessor. The 109.7cc, single-cylinder motor on the TVS Sport BS6 produces 8.17bhp of power and 8.7Nm of torque. The motorcycle is available in two variants – kick-start (Rs 51,750) and self-start (Rs 59,925). Bajaj Platina 110 H Gear: Rs 59,802
Bajaj’s 115.45cc commuter motorcycle, the Platina 110 H Gear, is available at a slightly lower price tag than the TVS Sport BS6 self-start variant. Despite retailing at a lower price tag, the Bajaj product comes standard with a front disc brake (240mm), a self-start and a five-speed gearbox. The single-cylinder engine is tuned to produce 8.4bhp of power and 9.81Nm of torque.
Hero Detini 125: Rs 64,310
For a premium of Rs 4,400 over the self-start version of the TVS Sport BS6, buyers can purchase Hero MotoCorp’s 125cc scooter, the Destini 125. The 125cc engine on the Destini 125 makes 9bhp of power and a peak torque of 10.4Nm. The motor benefits from Hero MotoCorp’s i3S Technology (Idle-Stop-Start System) for better fuel economy. The more premium version of the 125cc scooter, which boasts alloy wheels, is available for Rs 66,800.
Honda Activa 6G: Rs 64,464
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s highest-selling model, the Activa (110) is available at a premium of Rs 4,500 over the self-start variant of the TVS Sport BS6. The Honda Activa BS6 uses a 110cc engine that produces 7.6bhp of power and 8.79Nm of torque. The eSP technology is claimed to deliver silent start, reduce friction and increase the fuel economy. The premium variant of the Activa 6G, which is priced at Rs 65,964, gets a LED headlight.
Hero Passion Pro 110: Rs 64,990
For a premium of about Rs 5,000 over the self-start version of the TVS Sport BS6, buyers can get the Hero Passion Pro 110 (drum brake variant). The Passion Pro 110 is among the most appealing 110cc motorcycles in the Indian market. The muscular styling is complemented by the dual-tone paint job. Mechanical specifications include a 110cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor that delivers 9.02bhp at 7,500rpm and 9.79Nm at 5,500rpm. The feature list includes an Auto Sail feature for easier riding through traffic. The Passion Pro 110 is also available with a front disc brake (Rs 67,190).
