- TVS has teased the BS6 Star City Plus
- Will get LED headlamp apart from other new features
- Expected to be around Rs 6,000-8,000 more expensive than the BS4 model
TVS seems to have planned a host of launches in the coming days. We have already told you about the new Apache RR 310 and an electric scooter being in the offing. Now, the Hosur-based bike maker has teased the BS6 model of its commuter, the Star City Plus, hinting at its imminent launch.
The teaser video reveals that the motorcycle will feature a newly-designed LED headlamp, as opposed to the conventional bulbs on the existing model. It also shows an edgier-looking bikini fairing and visor while the rear view mirrors have also been redesigned. Expect the new Star City Plus to get more features such as an engine kill switch, start-stop function and an updated semi-digital instrument cluster.
The most important update will come in the form of a fuel-injected powerplant. With this, the BS6 model will witness minor changes in the power figures as well. Currently, the commuter is powered by a 109cc, air-cooled engine which churns out 8.3bhp and 8.7Nm. TVS might also tweak the hardware and dimensions of the motorcycle to make it more comfortable and accommodating. It rides on 17-inch wheels suspended by telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers. While braking is handled by drum brakes at both ends, it could get an option of disc brake on the updated model.
The BS4 TVS Star City Plus is priced at Rs 54,392 (ex-showroom) and the BS6 version is likely to demand a premium of around Rs 6,000-8,000. It competes against the Hero HF Deluxe i3S, Bajaj Platina 110 and the Yamaha Saluto RX.
