TVS has started production of the Star City + at their Hosur factory in South India. The Star City + is an updated version of the Star City. We recently reported about the TVS Star City + when it was spotted testing in Chennai.
The new Star City + comes with added features and design wise it borrows traits from the Phoenix 125. It was exhibited at the TVS stall at the Auto Expo in February. The commuter motorcycle comes with extra features like electric start and a digital speedometer with service reminder and fuel economy indicator. Apparently, this motorcycle has a more comfortable seat than the outgoing motorcycle.
TVS Motor Company has powered the Star City + with a revised 110cc DLI engine that churns out 8.1bhp of power and 8.1Nm of torque. This mill is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. The two-wheeler manufacturer claims the TVS Star City + delivers a fuel efficiency of 83.9kmpl.
TVS aims to sell 15,000 units the Star City + every month in India. Initially, the target will be 10,000 units per month. The company might launch this bike in May and consider markets like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, UP and Bihar at first. Later in June, the company will make the motorcycle available all across the country. When the Star City plus will go on sale, it will compete with the Mahindra Centuro, Hero Passion XPro and the Honda Dream Yuga.
