TVS is planning to launch a new 125cc scooter next year. The new scooter will compete with the Honda Activa, Suzuki Access and Mahindra Duro. Currently the Activa and the Access have maximum sales in this segment.
The new scooter will be priced between Rs 50,000 and Rs 55,000 and will have a fuel efficiency of 45 kmpl. The company is planning to launch this scooter with a new name and will not associate it with any of its current models, which include the Wego, Scooty Streak and Scooty Pep+. With the addition of the model, TVS will have a complete scooter line up ranging from 80cc till 125cc.
