TVS Motor Company has officially announced that it will launch a new product every quarter in order to strengthen their lost market share in the Indian two wheeler industry. The announcement was made during the launch of their new 110cc scooter, the Jupiter on September 16.
The company is also planning to launch an upgraded version of the Scooty which will be called Scooty Zest. It is expected to be launch in January 2014. The Chennai based manufacturer is hoping to increase its market share to 16 per cent from current 13.5 per cent in the scooter segment with the help of the Jupiter.
If we take a closer look, it seems that Japanese manufacturer; Honda India is also going by the same strategy of launching a new product every quarter. This helps the companies create hype about their products in the market and at the same time a new product is always welcomed by the consumers.
"Every quarter from now, you can expect there will be a new bike from TVS going forward. Currently, our market share is about 13.5 per cent. Through this, we are looking at 16-17 per cent in the scooter segment. We will do about 30,000 between Wego and Jupiter," said Venu Srinivasan, chariman and MD, TVS Motor Company.
