- TVS Racing all set to make it ARRC debut this year
- Riders competing for TVS include Jagan Kumar, KY Ahamed and Vorapong Malahuan
- First round of ARRC 2020 will be held from 6-8 March in Malaysia
Asia Road Racing Championship is an annual motorsport event which sees participation of various teams from across Asian continent. Until last year, the only two-wheeler brand with a presence in India which would participate in ARRC was Honda. However, that is set to change from this year as TVS has announced its debut in ARRC with a three-rider squad comprising of Jagan Kumar and KY Ahamed from India and Vorapong Malahuan from Malaysia. Considering Honda is originally a Japanese brand, TVS will be the only homegrown bike maker to step foot in this racing event.
Talking about the riders representing TVS at ARRC, Jagan Kumar is one of the acclaimed racers of India who has been a part of TVS Racing since 2009. Notably, Jagan is an eight-time winner of Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC). Joining him will be KY Ahamed who has been associated with TVS Racing over the past eight years and have showcased some strong performances for the team. Meanwhile, Malaysian racer Vorapong also has numerous successes under his belt, having performed in Thailand National Racing Championship for more than five times and other international-level motorcycle races.
TVS Racing will be competing in Asia Production 250 (AP-250) category of the championship with the riders battling it out astride race-spec Apache RR310 motorcycles. The first of seven rounds of 2020 season of ARRC will be held from 6 to 8 March at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
