- A successor to the TVS SXR 160
- Will race in Indian National Rally Championship
- Engine tuned to produced 20 horsepower
TVS has unveiled its new contender for rally competitions – the Ntorq SXR. A successor to the TVS SXR 160, the Ntorq SXR will make its debut at the fourth round of Indian National Rally Championship 2018 in Nashik on 25 and 26 May.
TVS Racing has roped in three-time National Championship winner Asif Ali and Shamim Khan for the Nashik round. The TVS Ntorq SXR is powered by a highly tuned air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, with race tuned intake and exhaust systems and an optimized ignition system. It delivers over 20bhp and is capable of touching speeds up to 120kmph. It rides on 12-inch wheels with knobby tyres and a specially-tuned suspension.
Visually, there aren’t many differences between the standard Ntorq and the Ntorq SXR, although they are sure to be very different under the skin. TVS Racing has had a good run with the SXR 160, and the brand is confident about upping the ante with the new Ntorq SXR. We can expect to see the scooter make an appearance at other rallying platforms, like the Gulf Monsoon Scooter rally, too.
