TVS Victor BS6 India launch: What to expect?

TVS Motor Company recently confirmed that it will launch the BS6-compliant variants of the Zest 110 and the Victor in the Indian market. While we await an official launch date announcement, we tell you what you can expect to see on the upcoming 110cc commuter from the Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer.

Design and Features

The styling cues will most likely remain unaltered, and the Victor BS6 should retain the looks of the BS4 motorcycle. Thus, expect to see features like halogen headlight with pilot lamps and dual-tone cowl at the front. The cockpit should retain the semi-digital instrument cluster layout from the BS4 model. The outgoing version, for reference, used an analogue tachometer while the rest of the information was available on the digital display. TVS Motor Company already offered the hazard light function on the BS4 model and we expect to see the feature on the BS6 motorcycle.

Colour Options

The BS4 model was sold in two versions (standard and Premium Edition) and nine colours. The standard version (drum and disc) was available in six paint schemes – Blue, Grey, Black Silver, Silver, Red and Black Red. The Premium Edition, on the other hand, was sold in three colour options – Matte Blue, Matte Silver and Black Gold. We expect the BS6 model to feature the same variants and paint options.

Hardware

The Victor BS6 will use a single cradle tubular frame. The cycle parts will include telescopic, oil damped suspension at the front and five-step adjustable hydraulic series spring shock absorbers at the rear. Braking setup, similar to the outgoing version, will include 130mm drum at the front and 110mm drum at the rear. The company will also offer a 240mm disc brake-equipped version for a marginally higher price tag. The Premium Edition will get front disc as standard.

TVS Victor Engine

Engine

TVS Motor Company has already updated its other 110cc motorcycles like the Star City+, Sport and Radeon to comply with the BS6 emission norms. The Victor BS6, too, will use the same engine. The BS6 compliant 109.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine makes 8.08bhp of peak power at 7,350rpm and 8.4Nm of maximum torque at 4,500rpm. We expect to see similar power and torque figures on the Victor BS6.

Price

The BS6 upgrade will result in a price premium over the BS4 motorcycle. Similar to the BS4 Victor, we expect to see three variants of the BS6-compliant commuter motorcycle – Drum, Disc and Premium Edition. The BS4 model, for reference, was priced at Rs 56,622 (Drum), Rs 58,622 (Disc) and Rs 59,602 (Premium Edition).
