TVS wants to take the Victor sales up from 15,000 units a month to 20,000 units a month. According to President and CEO of TVS, the company's primary goal is to increase sales volume, which, in turn, would make the dealers profitable and lower the component costs and improve the profitability.
Just two days ago, we told you how TVS Motor Company clocked a sales growth of 14 per cent during the month of July 2016, with total sales increasing from 218,321 units recorded in the month of July 2015 to 248,002 units in the month of July 2016. The company is hoping to record volume growth of around 15 per cent this fiscal in the two wheelers segment.
"The Victor bike is doing around 15,000 units per month and we want to take it to 20,000 per month. Growth for the company will come from scooters," Radhakrishnan said. He said the Victor motorcycle is expected to drive volume for the company.
After a few hit and miss attempts in the premium commuter segment, TVS decided to breathe new life into the Victor. Reviving the moniker after a gap of more than eight years, TVS has bestowed the new Victor with a host of cosmetic and technological updates. Built around a single cradle tubular frame, the new Victor is powered by an 110cc single-cylinder engine that produces 9.4bhp at 7500rpm and peak torque of 9.4Nm at 6000rpm. This engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox.
We believe the manufacturer should have no problem reaching the 20,000 mark as the motorcycle is undoubtedly deserving. It even made it into our top 10 bikes that had us floored list.
