TVS Motor Company has registered a 15 per cent drop in total sales for August 2019. It sold 2.75 lakh motorcycles and scooters last month as compared to the 3.30 lakh units sold in August 2018.
In the Indian market, TVS dispatched 2.19 lakh units in August whereas it has sold 2.75 lakh units in the same month last year, witnessing a 20.3 per cent decline. The motorcycle sales in the country stood at 1.09 lakhs; a 17 per cent drop compared to the 1.31 lakh units in August 2018. Meanwhile, scooters saw a 13 per cent decline also with a sale of 1.09 lakhs as against 1.26 lakhs in the same month last year.
On the other hand, exports for TVS registered a 4 per cent growth as it sold 54,388 units overseas in August 2019 compared to 56,323 units in August 2018. TVS is looking to increase its sales during the festive season in India and is expected to launch the new Apache RTR 200 4V and Apache RTR 160 4V along with an updated Jupiter soon.
