- TVS sold 3.08 lakh units last month
- Motorcycles register 16.4 per cent decline
- Exports grew by 22 per cent
TVS Motor Company has witnessed a 19.8 drop in total sales of motorcycles and scooters for October 2019.
The manufacturer sold 3.08 lakh units last month as compared to the 3.84 lakh units it sold in the corresponding month last year. Out of this number, motorcycles contributed to 1.25 lakh units; a decline of 16.4 per cent against the 1.50 lakh units sold in October 2018. TVS scooters on the other hand witnessed a 19 per cent drop in sales, going from 1.51 lakhs in October last year to 1.21 lakh in October 2019.
However, TVS’s stronghold in the export market helped the manufacturer in October increase overseas sales by 22 per cent. It sold 55,477 motorcycles and scooters overseas as compared to October 2018 wherein it sold 45,319 units. TVS recently updated the Ntorq 125 with LED lighting and new graphics. It also introduced the Bluetooth SmartXonnect feature on the Apache RTR 200 4V. The company will soon update the rest of the line-up with a host of features and BSVI-compliant engines.
