TVS recently launched its maiden performance electric scooter in India. It’s called the X and it marks the second EV from the Hosur-based two-wheeler brand. The X has created quite some buzz in the electric two-wheeler market due to various reasons. Let’s have a look at all of them.
What are the design cues of the new TVS X electric scooter?
The TVS X has one of the most distinct designs and is based on the Creon e-scooter, which was showcased a while back. It comes with a vertically stacked LED headlight placed at the centre of the two-piece front apron. It’s flanked by two large side panels and gets proper maxi-scooter bodywork with a large spine in between that houses the charging port too. Then, there’s the split seat with the exposed chassis and sleek-looking rear side panels.
What features does the TVS X get?
Apart from LED illumination, the TVS X comes with three ride modes (Xtride, Xonic, and Xtealth), a 10.2-inch TFT with TVS SmartXonnect which gives you access to navigation, calls and SMS and gets OTA updates, cruise control, geofencing, crash and fall alert, tow and theft alert, shared digital keys, and more.
What are the battery and motor specifications of the new TVS electric scooter?
Powering the TVS X is a 4.44kWh battery linked to an 11kW (peak power) motor. It offers 140km of range and gets a top speed of 105kmph. The charging time for the X’s battery is said to be three hours and 40 minutes for 80 percent.
What’s the hardware setup like on the new TVS EV?
The new TVS X rides on telescopic front forks and an offset rear shock. Its braking hardware comprises 220mm front disc and 195mm rear unit brakes with a single-channel ABS. The setup is mounted on 12-inch wheels wrapped in 100/80 front and 110/80 rear tyres.
How much does the TVS X cost?
The asking price of the TVS X is set at Rs. 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). This makes it one of the most expensive electric scooters on sale in the market.
