TVS recently launched the XL 100 BS6 in India. Here, we highlight five features of the updated moped that are different and set it apart from the BS4 version.
Three variants
The previous XL 100 was offered in six versions. However, the BS6 model is available in three variants namely- Heavy Duty i-Touchstart, Comfort i-Touchstart and Special Edition. All three variants now sport a electric starter motor as standard.
Pricing
TVS has pegged the XL 100 BS6 with a starting price of Rs 43,889 for the standard Heavy Duty variant, making it the most affordable BS6-compliant TVS available on the market. On the other hand, the Comfort and Special Edition variants are priced Rs 45,459 and Rs 45,129 respectively. (all prices ex-showroom).
Fuel-injected motor
While the XL 100 continues with a 99.7cc engine that produces 4.4bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 6.5Nm at 3500rpm, the motor now gets a fuel-injection system. TVS claims that the BS6 XL 100 is 15 per cent more fuel efficient as compared to the BS4 model.
Revised weight
The fuel-injection system has increased the TVS XL 100’s kerb weight. The moped now tips the scales at 89kg; that is 3kg heavier than the BS4 model.
