TVS Motors has introduced the XL 100 moped in Uttar Pradesh. This is a new variant of the moped that is powered by a larger 100cc air-cooled engine. This model will also be launched in other markets in future.
The TVS Heavy Duty Super XL is the only moped currently on sale in the Indian market. The standard version is powered by a 69.9cc, two-stroke, single-cylinder petrol engine that produces 3.5bhp of power and 5.0Nm of torque and comes mated to an automatic gearbox. The bike gets a kickstart, an analog speedometer, spoke wheels and drum brakes. The new XL 100 is the same as the standard version in terms of design and utilitarian features, but gets a larger 100cc motor.
TVS Motors has tasted a fair bit of success with their Heavy Duty Super XL moped, which is mainly sold in rural markets. This two-wheeler recently crossed the one crore sales milestone. Hopefully, the new 100cc moped, with the same utilitarian equipment and bigger engine, should also find a good demand all over the country when launched.
