- TVS Zeppelin India-debut at 2020 Auto Expo
- Will be powered by a 212cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor
- Will sport USD forks, LED lights, dual-channel ABS
TVS’ next big motorcycle – the Zeppelin cruiser is likely to be unveiled to the world in its production form at the 2020 Auto Expo.
According to our sources, a lot of focus is being put on the Zeppelin project, and the motorcycle is almost ready. The company would soon commence road testing of this upcoming motorcycle. The Zeppelin was unveiled as a premium power cruiser that was loaded with some fancy equipment such as upside-down forks, Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) with assist motor and HD camera. However, the final production form will sport only the necessary cycle parts to keep costs in check. So things like the upside-down front forks, LED lights and dual-channel ABS system will be seen on the bike. In fact, a few components like the headlight unit, instrument cluster and switchgear will be borrowed from the Apache 200.
In terms of power, the Zeppelin cruiser will be powered by a 212cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor. This motor is based on the Apache 200’s 197cc engine and will be BS-VI compliant. However, for the Zeppelin, the bore size will be increased to get more displacement. Unfortunately, there’s no information on the power figures yet.
While the Zeppelin concept looked quite stunning, thanks to the gold fork tubes and the presence of top-class plastics and tank finish, the production variant will be highly toned down to meet everyone’s design needs.
We are expecting the Hosur-based company to launch the Zeppelin soon after its global unveil. In terms of pricing, the bike will be postioned above the Apache 200, so expect a starting price tag of around Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
