Few days ago we reported about the TVS-BMW 300cc being tested in Germany. We have managed to get another picture of the prototype which was spied testing near BMW’s research and development division.
The spied prototype is a naked motorcycle, which is rumoured to get a 300cc water-cooled single cylinder engine. There were rumours that the small bike from the TVS-BMW collaboration will use the Draken concept as the base platform, but the prototype shares almost nothing in terms of chassis and engine. The prototype was camouflaged in such a way that it did not reveal many details. In fact, the test mule didn’t even sport the complete body panels.
The test mule sports a smoked headlamp, upside-down forks and a big silencer whose proportions don’t go with the motorcycle. The side angle of the spied bike, reminds us of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200. As per their collaboration, both TVS and BMW will sell the 300cc bike but in different avatars. While the TVS variant is expected to be more affordable, the one from BMW will cater to the premium segment.
We are expecting other motorcycle styles like the adventure to be built around the same chassis. Like the rest of the manufacturers, we won’t be surprised if the German and the Indian duo will follow “three variants per platform” formula. BMW might showcase their new small capacity motorcycles as the 2015 EICMA show, whereas TVS will choose the 2016 Auto Expo to reveal their models.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we uncover more details on the TVS-BMW motorcycles.
