The month of July was quite action-packed for the Indian two-wheeler industry. Although the number of new launches wasn’t significant, the ones which debuted enjoyed a lot of hype on the internet. In case you aren’t about these launches yet, here’s a quick lowdown on the two-wheelers that entered the Indian market in July 2023.
Harley-Davidson took the Indian biking fraternity by storm by launching its smallest offering, the X440, with an incredible price tag. The motorcycle starts from Rs 2.29 lakh for the base variant which is extremely competitive. It is powered by a 440cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled mill that produces 27bhp and 38Nm. It’s also impressive in terms of features and cycle parts.
Just two days after the Harley X440’s launch, Bajaj and Triumph dropped their bomb in the form of the Speed 400. Although the Speed 400 is better than the X440 on the performance and component front, its introductory price stood at an amazing Rs 2.23 lakh. In fact, over 10,000 units of the Speed 400 have already been booked and now it costs Rs 2.33 lakh.
Honda expanded its scooter portfolio by launching the new Dio 125 in India. While it wears a bodywork that’s nearly identical to its 110cc sibling, powering the new entrant is a larger 125cc engine that does duty on the Grazia 125 and Activa 125 as well. Moreover, the Dio 125’s top-end Smart variant gets a lot of modern, convenience-oriented features.
2023 Hero Xtreme 200S 4V
Hero took the wraps off the updated four-valve iteration of its fully-faired motorcycle, the Xtreme 200S. Similar to the new Xpulse 200 4V, the new Xtreme too gets a four-valve head for improved performance towards the higher end of the rev band. Even the power and torque output have gone slightly up and it produces 18.9bhp and 17.3Nm now.
Ola Electric launched its most affordable electric scooter, the S1 Air with an introductory price tag of Rs. 1.10 lakh. This price was valid till 30 July and now the e-scooter costs Rs 1.20 lakh. The S1 Air boasts 90kmph of top speed, 125km of range, three ride modes, and a charging time of five hours.
