Two-wheeler sales keep increasing according to reports

       Pulsar 200SS

The Indian car market may be seeing an economic slowdown in terms of car sales but the two-wheeler market seems to be showing an opposite behaviour. Though the two-wheeler sales in India might not have seen a considerably huge hike, they are gradually ascending and not seeing a downfall as in the Indian car market.

According to reportsin ET, the two-wheeler sales remained positive as 13,13,796 units were sold in January 2014 as compared to 12,06,931 units sold back in the same period in 2013. This overall sales report shows a 8.85 per cent hike. Out of these 9,22,323 motorcycles were sold showing a rise of four per cent in comparison to the sales numbers of last year.

Surprisingly, the scooter sales climbed by 28 per cent with 3,23,162 units being delivered to customers. This shows an acute increase in demandfor scooters in the Indian two-wheeler market. According to SIAM’s Sugato Sen, the upsurge in sales of two-wheelers is mainly ascribed to the good monsoons which induced a good harvest-time resulting in the well-being of the rural economy.

We hope the demand for two-wheelers keeps on rising and that manufacturers from all over the world bring in different products for motorcycle enthusiasts and fans in our country.
