United Motors Global, a motorcycle manufacturer from the US, will bring its motorcycles to the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The Miami-based bike manufacturer will not be launching any of the products at the event but will exhibit their range of motorcycles there.
According to Autocar Professional’s report, UM Motorcycles plans to set up a manufacturing plant or an assembly facility in India in the future. The manufacturer might also come up with a Research and Development centre in the country. The company will announce the details of their plans at the New Delhi Auto Expo scheduled next month.
UM motorcycles sell single-cylinder two-wheelers in about 20 countries including Latin America, Africa and Asia. Their portfolio includes all kinds of two-wheelers such as sports bikes, scooters, cruisers and dual purpose motorcycles, all of which range from 100cc to 250cc.
UM Motorcycles' stall at the Delhi Auto Expo might include seven sports bikes. These bikes will be powered with engine options which can be 125cc, 150cc, 175cc, 200cc and 225cc and three scooters ranging from 125cc to 150cc, if launched in India in the future, might rival the Suzuki Swish and Piaggio Vespa which are being sold in the Indian two-wheeler market. The four cruisers that might be unveiled may be powered with an engine configuration which might start from 140cc and go up till 225cc.
The dual purpose bikes might be available with three engine options of 125cc, 200cc and 225 cc. We hope they get it for the Indian bike market which we feel can do a very good job on Indian road conditions. These, if launched will go up against the upcoming 250cc Hero Impulse, the present Impulse and other naked bikes like the KTM Duke 200 and the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we bring you more updates about the same.
