UM teases the Renegade days before the 2016 Auto Expo

UM, the new entrant in the Indian two-wheeler industry has released a teaser image on Facebook. While the teased bike has been covered, we believe it’s the new Renegade Sport S.

The company had unveiled almost a production-ready version of the Renegade Sport S at the 2015 EICMA. But the model that will be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo might have few cosmetic changes. This motorcycle looks attractive because of the dual-tone paint scheme, fat rear tyre, elongated exhaust and the American-style cruiser stance.

In terms of mechanicals, this bike is powered by a new 279cc single-cylinder engine. This mill produces 25bhp and 22Nm of torque. It also gets beefier 41mm USD forks at the front and a dual shock in the rear.

UM has confirmed that it’ll launch two new bikes, so we expect the second one to be the Renegade Commando. However, the American manufacturer is tight-lipped about this model. The Renegade Sport will be priced between Rs 1.6 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company wanted to keep the price under Rs 2 lakh on-road, however, due to logistical and operational issues, they are unable to do it presently.
