- 2019 Jawa bike spied
- Gets old-school bulky styling
- Will be unveiled on 15th November
Classic Legends is all set to unveil its upcoming Jawa range on 15th November. While the company has managed to keep everything under wraps till now, it finally ran out of luck as one of the Jawa prototypes have been caught on camera.
The spied Jawa has been heavily camouflaged but it managed to reveal majority of the design language. The company is sticking to the old-school bulky styling. The bike is built around double downtube frame. It sports a large fuel tank, round headlamp and instrument cluster which is likely to be a part-analog part-digital one. The battery box cover is also bulky and round. The single seat gets a brown finish to make it look a bit premium. The bike just gets a disc at the front, and is likely to get a single-channel ABS system. Other bits like spoke-wheels, dual-exhaust and grab rail are also visible on the test mule.
Powering this Jawa is a 293cc engine single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that produces 27bhp and 28Nm of torque. It will be mated to a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive. The company claims that this engine has a generous mid-range and flat torque curve with an exhaust note reminiscent of the early 2-stroke Jawas.
The upcoming Jawa range will go against the Royal Enfields. In terms of pricing, these bikes are expected to have a starting price tag of around Rs 1.7 lakhs. Being an aspirational brand, Classic Legends might have a good run in the country. The company will have around 100 showrooms ready at the time of launch.
