- India launch likely in August 2023
- Both motorcycles use the same 321cc, parallel-twin engine
Yamaha Motor India has finally showcased the upcoming YZF-R3 and MT-03 to the journalists in the country ahead of their imminent launch in our market. The Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer showcased these products at an event in Chennai, India.
While the official details are not available yet, we expect to hear a launch announcement in August 2023, ahead of the high-demand festive season. Notably, these sub-500cc motorcycles were displayed to dealer partners in India, alongside the likes of the YZF-R7, MT-07, and MT-09, earlier this year. Further, several dealers across the country have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the upcoming 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03. The booking amount for these motorcycles varies from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000 depending on the dealership.
These products are available in several international markets, and the India-bound models should carry identical specifications and features. Both, the YZF-R3 and MT-03, use the same 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that makes 40.4bhp and 29.4Nm of peak torque. Their feature list includes full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and a dual-channel ABS.
Apart from these sub-500cc products, Yamaha Motor India has also showcased the YZF-R7 and MT-07 at the same event.
