- Both motorcycles spotted with new colour schemes
- No changes to design of products
- Indian launch likely soon
The upcoming 2023 Yamaha YZF-R15 and MT-15 have been spotted in India ahead of their launch in our market. As seen in the spy photographs, the updated models will get new colour themes. The YZF-R15, for example, is seen with a matte paint finish along with a golden shade for the alloy wheels. In contrast, the new colour on the MT-15 features a glossy finish, while the alloy wheels get an orange paint.
Meanwhile, the design remains unaltered, and both motorcycles retain the styling elements from the existing variants. The hardware, too, remains unchanged, and both, the YZF-R15 and MT-15, continue to use upside-down front forks, rear mono-shock, and disc brakes on both wheels.
It is still not clear whether the new paint theme on the YZF-R15 will be sold as the standard trim or under the M variant. We expect it to join the latter. For reference, the YZF-R15 M is currently available in three colour options – Metallic Grey, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition, and R15M WGP 60th Anniversary Edition. The standard variant, too, is available in three paint themes – Metallic Red, Dark Knight, and Racing Blue.
The MT-15, on the other hand, is available in a single variant and five paint options – Metallic Black, Ice Fluo-Vermillion, Cyan Storm, Racing Blue, and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition. The new paint theme in the spy pictures looks similar to the existing Metallic Black paint, although the 2023 model, as mentioned earlier, gets an orange shade for the wheels.
These motorcycles will be launched in the Indian market very soon. The YZF-15 rivals the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer SF and the KTM RC 125, while the MT-15 competes against the Suzuki Gixxer and the KTM 125 Duke in the Indian market.
